Madison Project PAC Endorses Chris McDaniel for Senate in Mississippi
Washington, D.C. – The Madison Project PAC, the first conservative PAC to endorse Ted Cruz, announced today that it is endorsing state Senator Chris McDaniel for U.S. Senate against Senator Thad Cochran in Mississippi.
“As conservatives recently fought one of the most important battles of this generation, we all witnessed a huge gap within the Republican Party,” said Daniel Horowitz of the Madison Project. “There are those like Senator Ted Cruz who not only vote with conservatives, but give voice to liberty-loving citizens across the country. Then there are those like Thad Cochran who are completely missing in action in the fight against Obamacare. Sadly, throughout his 34 year career, Senator Cochran has seldom stood up for conservative values, often voting with Democrats for more taxes, spending increases, abortion funding, gun control, and job-killing regulations.”
“Worst of all, Senator Cochran has earned the distinction of being one of the biggest wasteful spenders of this generation. If there were a pork-spending hall of fame, Cochran would be front and center.”
“We’ve met many Mississippians who are asking why their conservative state is lacking a true conservative voice in Washington. Senator Cochran is well respected and has served honorably, but after 40 years in Washington it is time for real conservative change. Our country can’t afford any more bad votes that stem from old-friends and back-room deals. And as witnessed from the recent budget battle against Obamacare, we cannot win against Democrats if we don’t grow our conservative bench in the Senate.”
“This is why we are proud to endorse state Senator Chris McDaniel in his bold challenge to such an entrenched incumbent,” said Drew Ryun of the Madison Project. “Chris McDaniel is a perfect candidate for those of us looking to elect full-spectrum conservative fighters. He has already done for conservatives in Mississippi exactly what we would expect of a Republican senator in Washington. He has led the fight against Democrats and establishment Republicans in the state legislature and has won the hearts of grassroots activists throughout the Magnolia State. McDaniel will immediately empower Mississippians with a strong conservative voice against the liberal ways of Washington, alongside Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and the other reinforcements that will hopefully join them this year.”
