Well, we have another casualty of our aggressive primary challenge strategy. RINO Spencer Bachus, one of the few Republicans who supported amnesty from such a conservative district, has announced he will not seek reelection. This is another example of winning without firing a shot.
Bachus knew that at least one or two legitimate challengers were planning to announce, and the polling was not looking favorable for him. We interviewed an impressive candidate several weeks ago, and have made a priority to replace Spencer Bachus. Alabama’s Sixth Congressional district is rated R+28, perhaps the most conservative district in the country. Yet Bachus was one of just a few Republicans to vote against defunding Obama’s illegal administrative amnesty. He has been a big spending supporter of bailouts for years. Today’s announcement is a victory for conservatives and a vindication of our strategy to move aggressively in primaries.
Now that this is an open seat the dynamics of the race will change rapidly. We will monitor this race very closely to ensure that Republicans nominate a conservative who reflects the conservative values of this district.
