Madison Project Comments on McConnell’s One Week CR

Washington, D.C. – The Madison Project PAC released the following statement regarding Senator Mitch McConnell’s one-week Continuing Resolution (CR):

“Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has a habit of parachuting in to a critical issue at the very last moment to undermine conservative leverage,” said Daniel Horowitz Policy Director of Madison Project.  “After handing Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) the requisite votes needed to pass an Obamacare funding bill out of the House, Senator McConnell has weakened the leverage of House Republicans.  Now he is proposing a meaningless one-week Continuing Resolution (CR).  McConnell has just unambiguously telegraphed  to Democrats that he has every intention of blinking first in the battle over Obamacare.  What is the purpose of delaying his inevitable capitulation for one week? The people of Kentucky deserve a real leader that actually takes charge on the important issues instead of one who chooses the path of least resistance and self-preservation.”

The Madison Project supports and raises money for conservative candidates that have demonstrated a commitment to full-spectrum conservatism. The Madison Project website can be found at
