Madison Project Looking for Primary Challenger to Lamar Alexander

Washington, DC – The Madison Project announced today that it will be working with
Tea Party leaders in Tennessee to find a viable conservative challenger to Lamar
Alexander in next year’s primary.

“The Senate amnesty bill is one of the most destructive bills to come before the Senate in
years, yet Senator Lamar Alexander betrayed conservatives and helped secure its
passage,” said Drew Ryun of the Madison Project. “Last year, Tennessee voters
strongly rejected Obama’s agenda, but Lamar Alexander voted for Obama’s most
important priority of his second term. The amnesty bill is the Obamacare of
immigration policy, as it exacerbates the current system, creates a permanent cycle of
amnesty, ties the hands of law enforcement, and grants enormous discretion to Obama’s
bureaucrats. Even the hollow promises of enforcement will not be implemented until 10
years after amnesty is granted.”

“We look forward to backing a candidate who prioritizes the American taxpayer and the
rule of law over the desires of special interests,” said Daniel Horowitz of the
Madison Project. “Whether it’s amnesty, tax increases, debt limit increases, energy
subsidies, or liberal judicial nominees, Alexander has stood on the side of Democrats
and special interests over the conservative values of his Tennessee constituents. It’s
time for Tennessee to have at least one senator who stands for bold colors instead of
pale pastels.”

The Madison Project supports and raises money for conservative candidates that have demonstrated a
commitment to full-spectrum conservatism. The Madison Project website can be found at

Should we not remember Edmund Burke’s statement?

“Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays instead of serving you if he sacrifices it to your opinion.”

Aren’t you trying to eliminate precisely the judgement about which Burke wrote?

  2. Daniel Horowitz Says:

His judgement is colored by the special interests and foreign lobbies who put the interests of illegal aliens ahead of out national sovereignty and taxpayers. Whether he votes his conscience or based on special interests, he doesn’t represent conservatives and we need a Republican in the primary who does.

  3. Eric Stamper Says:

I see it didn’t take long for Lamar’s people to find this post and make a comment. Lamar’s record and actions are so egregious there is no avoiding him being challenged, no matter how many Establicans he gets to support him and how much money he raises (or fails to raise… missed his first fundraising goal by more than $1 Million. Oops!)

The way the S.744 amnesty bill was frantically shoved through the Senate, the last minute, virtual rewriting of the original bill (the Corker, Hoeven amendment) with a vote on it within about 3 working days, was a disgraceful perversion of the legislative process. The final form of S. 744 did not exist long enough to give any Senator adequate time to study it and make an informed, thoughtful decision. It is unlikely that Edmond Burke’s idea of a representative using his judgment can be applied to Sen. Alexander voting for a bill about which he could not possibly have had adequate knowledge.

Some quick facts on why Senator Lamar Alexander needs to be removed from political office:
Senator Lamar Alexander is considered by most as a RINO (Republican In Name Only).
Senator Alexander has sided with President Obama over 62 percent of the time, which is the highest percentage of any senator from the South. A lot of these votes of course are about economic matters.
Senator Alexander wants to double federal spending on energy, and is calling for more Obama-style “green” energy research.
Senator Alexander supported the Obama amnesty bill for millions of illegal immigrants.
Senator Alexander supported TARP and the bailouts.
Senator Alexander tried to SNEAK a National Internet Sales Tax into a Defense Bill.
Senator Alexander voted against food freedom by allowing the FDA to raid farmers, natural food stores, and people who sell/posses raw unprocessed foods at gunpoint.
Senator Alexander voted to prolong the Iraq occupation.

Don’t forget that LA was quite happy to support muslo-sympathetic BO and his highly controversial appointment of highly muslo-sympathetic Bill Killian to the East District Tenn. U.S Attorney

HE and FBI Moore were recently seen enabling DAWAH in favor of islam at an informational seminar.

“Jasper, Tenn. – Jasper lawyer William C. Killian has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee – drawing praise from U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.”
“On June 4 in Manchester, Tennessee, Bill Killian, U.S. Attorney of the Eastern District of Tennessee, FBI Special Agent Kenneth Moore, and Zak Mohyuddin of the American Muslim Advisory Council hosted an event called “Public Disclosure in a Diverse Society” in the town of Manchester, Tennessee. My American Freedom Defense Initiative colleague Pamela Geller and I called for a protest of what was clearly an event designed to intimidate Americans into being afraid to criticize the elements of Islam that give rise to violence and supremacism, and nearly 2,000 protesters assembled at the Manchester Convention Center to register their disapproval of this latest Obama Administration attempt to silence criticism of jihad and Islamic supremacism.”

Eric: Don’t forget he also voted to confirm

Sotomayor – lifetime judicial position for a racist advocate of La Raza

Holder – Head of of the most corrupt DOJ in our history (Fast & Furious, Black panther case, VoterID opponent, and now we find they organized protests against Zimmerman.)

Clinton – Before she was ever appointed she had a major conflict of interest due to foreign contributions to the Clinton Foundation. Most inept SoS ever (though Kerry will probably surpass her)- Arab spring, Benghazi, drunken parties and prostitute scandals, chief aide Huma with ties to muslim brotherhood.

The one that REALLY enraged me was when he and Corkscrew sold us out to the Russians in LAME DUCK 2010 with their STARTreaty vote.

    Also supported SOPA/PIPA.

PLEASE let’s find someone willing to stand up against the firmly entrenched TN GOP establishment.

  8. American Says:

We the people of TN must vote for the Conservativ e challenger when one is announced. All these current republicans in TN that have endorsed or joined the LA campaign need to rethink their actions.
