This is absolutely unprecedented for unemployment to rise 3 years after the end of a recession.  As The Hill reports, 44 states saw their unemployment rate rise in July, while only 3 states enjoyed a decrease.  And yes, one of them was Washington D.C.  Nevada’s unemployment rate, which is the highest in the nation, is now at 12%.  There is no doubt that Obama’s energy policy and the ensuing increases in gas prices is contributing to this.
