Talk about a bipartisan lovefest!  Obama held a signing ceremony for the massive highway/student loan omnibus bill that will preclude devolution of transportation authority to the states for years.  It will also continue government’s inflationary-inducing intervention into higher education.  House Transportation Committee Chairman John Mica, who had a big hand in passing this bill that will ensure the highway trust fund is never balanced, was there to celebrate.  His conservative opponent, Congresswomen Sandy Adams nailed him on it.  From Politico:

The incumbent vs. incumbent primary races are turning out to be some of the most bruising contests this year and the match-up between Florida GOP Reps. John Mica and Sandy Adams is no different.

Thus today, in honor of Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Mica’s expected attendance at the White House for the transportation bill signing, Adams hits her colleague where it hurts in a press release.

Twenty-year incumbent John Mica, who calls himself President Obama’s biggest cheerleader, will join his “soul mate” Barbara Boxer for President Obama’s signing of their budget-busting transportation bill.  As Mica stands with the president today, does he also agree with fellow big-government Republican, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, that “The Chinese are more successful [in building infrastructure] because in their country, only three people make the decision?”
