Tuition Increases as Federal Government Expands Role in Education

The Wall Street Journal reports  that according to the College Board tuition at public colleges has risen 150% since 1990, to an average $8,244 per student this past academic year.  Not surprisingly, government subsidies and grants rose by 242% over the same time period.  Coincidence?
