I wonder what would happen if a Republican governor used a stereotype about a Democrat constituency to say this: (via Politico)
“It’s wrong for North Carolina, clearly and simply,” she said. “People around the country are watching us and they’re really confused to have been such a progressive, forward-thinking, economically driven state that invested in education and that stood up for the civil rights of people including the civil rights marches back in the ‘50s and ’60s and ’70s. Folks are saying, what in the world is going in North Carolina? We look like Mississippi.”
Really? So it’s just those racist hicks in Mississippi who would ever conjure up the thought of assuming a marriage meant, well….a marriage! No, Bev, the fact that a super majority of voters upheld marriage, despite the onslaught from people like you, goes to show that you are the one who is out of the mainstream. It’s no wonder you are so unpopular that you can’t stand for reelection.
