Reagan once said that “the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.” Well, it comes as no surprise that Republican voters score much higher on political aptitude tests than Democrats. According to a Pew survey of “Partisan Differences in Knowledge,” Republican voters are better informed, than their liberal counterparts. Ironically, but not surprisingly, liberals are more strident and close-minded in dealing with those who think differently, even though they are less knowledgeable about politics than conservatives.
