Our next intra-party battle is rapidly approaching as Evan Feinberg attempts to knock off SEIU Republican Tim Murphy in the western Pennsylvania district 18. Murphy is the epitome of what is wrong with the Republican Party. He is sitting on a district that is rapidly trending Republican, yet he had become a comprehensive liberal in Congress.
Feinberg is one of those rare principled candidates who is also a policy wonk. He has released a blueprint for downsizing government, “Turning the Lights Back On.” Instead of merely purveying platitudes, Feinberg has put his ideas on paper. His plan is solid because it focuses on the real problem; the size of government. All too often, candidates speak boldly about “cutting spending,” but offer no solid examples except for eliminating “waste, fraud and abuse.” As a former domestic policy LA for Senator Rand Paul, Feinberg has learned how to put together a proper budget.
