Washington Post: Transportation Spending Doesn’t Create Jobs After All

For the past few months, both Obama and Boehner have been peddling the Keynesian myth that using private sector money (or borrowed funds) to build roads will create jobs.  Now, even the Washington Post is exposing this fallacy.

“But do they really create more jobs? The answer from a lot of economists is not really. The bills would simply shift spending that was creating jobs elsewhere in the economy to transportation industries. That means different jobs, but not necessarily additional ones.”
