Many have now heard of ACU’s chairman, David Keene, and his emails with UPS and FedEx as to who would pay him more to promote one company over the other. It appears that mentality is pretty run of the mill around CPAC these days. Below is a nice email laying out how FreedomWorks plans to promote its FreedomConnect, so I’m going to assume that any blog post or Tweet coming out of this weekend was in exchange for a beer (or beers). I consider this total astro-turfing, and I have a question to the conservative bloggers at CPAC: are you really that cheap a date? I mean, if you must, at least demand a filet mignon and a nice Merlot. Oh, and tell them to leave the money on the dresser on the way out.

* Disclaimer: Just to be clear, I will not be handing out beers to anyone who Tweets or links to this.

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to keep you in the loop!

We will have a few of our developers in there to give a walkthrough on FreedomConnect

each day. If you haven’t checked it out and signed up, you should do that.

We’re in beta but launching this week at CPAC, and would love to show

you guys what it can do. We’re really excited, and think that this

could be a game changer. The demonstrations will be:

– 4pm on Thursday in the blogger lounge

– 5pm on Friday in the McKinley room

– 11am on Saturday in the blogger lounge

Note: There is a launch party on Friday at 6pm immediately following the

demonstration, and you can earn drink tickets in the following ways…

· If you sign up for FreedomConnect, you will receive a drink ticket at the 6pm

happy hour immediately following the demo

· If you tweet about it, you will receive a drink ticket

· If you sign up, blog about it, and tweet your blog post, you’ll

receive 3 drink tickets. We’re referring to this as the

Trifecta, if you will.  Hopefully you can make one of demos! If you

can’t and you’re still interested, let me know and I will set you up with

people smarter than me who can answer all your questions.

On Thursday, Newt will be in the lounge from 4:45 to 5:30… which is perfect because

you all need to meet there by 6 to go to BlogBash anyway.

Herman Cain will be making an appearance at 4pm on Friday.

I am working on setting up individual interviews with many of you – be patient

with me. Schedules are hard.
